Finding resources

The term 'resources' refers to any type of publication, whether that is paper-based or digital, that is of a suitable standard and quality to be used in academic work. Resources might include regulation or procedure documents, reports, briefing papers, books or book chapters, journal articles or other types of eResource that you can access through the GCU Library.

You will likely have access to some key documents that you use in your work everyday, that guide what you do and outline the rules and regulations you follow. There may be other documents that are of relevance to the wider railway sector, that affect your work on a more strategic level. These are examples of the kind of resources that would be useful to read when finding background information for your assessment.

As you will be writing at university level, you might also like to include information that is relevant to your area from the university Library catalogue. As a GCU student, remember that you can access  eBooks (electronic books available online), our online Journals A-Z and advice on using eResources via any web connection. Please note that you will need your GCU username and password to access resources.

Google Scholar is a really useful web-based tool that will help you find relevant and reputable resources. Below is a quick guide on how to use it.
